Mystic Color™ is a disappearing ink that is heat sensitive. On a hot beverage mug it will cause the imprint to change just as soon as the outside surface temperature exceeds approximately 120 degrees.
 
 
 

Mystic Color™ is applied after the (non-changing) ceramic imprint colors have been silk screened and lehr fired. It can be used to hide all or part of the permanent imprint so that it will become visible soon after the hot beverage is poured into the mug.
 

               

It's easy to understand the simplicity of Mystic Color™ by examining the 'before' and 'after' example depicted. The 'after' example appears exactly as it would immediately after the regular ceramic enamel imprint colors have been silk screened and fired. It takes on the appearance of the 'before' example (the finished mug at room temperature).

Registration of Colors:  Registration of Mystic Color™ to ceramic imprint colors require +/- 1/16" on the front side,
and /- 1/8" for a two sided or wraparound imprint.

Full color designs are so vivid and colorful 
that they are only partially covered 
by the Mystique color.  

When the Mystique color disappears, 
the true bright colors are revealed!

Mystique color hides your imprint until hot coffee is added to the mug.

MystiqueTM over Decal Process

The color is more opaque over a decal, 
but when revealed through the Mystique Color 
in its transparent state, 
decal colors are somewhat muted.

We can direct screen print a simple design or text 
over the Mystique Color, 
that may continue to appear 
even when the Mystique Color is invisible!

 MYSTIQUETM CLUE: We will print up to 3 colors over a Mystique Color. The registration tolerance is 1/8". Design cannot contain fine lines, detail, or half-tones.

NOTICE:  In order to comply with California Proposition 65, alternative printing methods should be used if we are shipping any portion of your order to California. Be aware that these methods may result in an imprint with a duller finish that is less durable. We will use these alternative methods when we recognize that it is necessary, however, it is ultimately your responsibility to request such. If it is necessary and you do not request alternative ink processes in writing prior to production, or you specially request in writing for us not to use such alternative methods, the customer or end user will hold Extra Mile harmless from any and all liability for alleged Proposition 65 violations.
